DPM Ivanović meets with Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Montenegro Rabii Alhantouli

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met today with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Montenegro Rabii Alhantouli

Ambassador Alhantouli provided a detailed overview of the current situation in Palestine, describing it as extremely difficult, dangerous, and unpredictable. He elaborated on the challenges faced daily by Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, expressing deep concern over recent statements regarding the potential displacement of Palestinian people. 

Additionally, the Ambassador briefed Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović on past and upcoming international initiatives aimed at fostering greater global engagement in addressing the Palestinian issue. 

Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović reaffirmed Montenegro’s clear and unequivocal stance against any potential violations of the rights of the Palestinian population and underscored the importance of preserving peace and stability across the region. He emphasized the necessity of reaching a diplomatic agreement and avoiding further escalation of tensions, reiterating Montenegro’s support for a two-state solution. 

Ambassador Alhantouli expressed his gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović for the open and constructive dialogue, as well as for Montenegro’s fair and principled position on this matter.
