We are on the right track to become the next member of the European Union, and we are particularly committed to strengthening the rule of law. We want to ensure optimal conditions for business development, and there are numerous benefits to entering the Montenegrin market. Our labour taxes are among the most competitive in the region, we have affordable electricity prices, we fully utilize the euro, and by being a NATO member, we guarantee additional security for investors, emphasised the Prime Minister.
The discussion emphasised significant opportunities for cooperation in various areas, particularly in the field of renewable energy sources. In the context of establishing collaboration, Prime Minister Spajić's visit to Japan could play a significant role.
The purpose of the meeting is to identify opportunities for business cooperation and investments. There are noticeable changes in Montenegro, all of which open up space for much better cooperation between Montenegro and Japan and create a successful story for the future. Green transition is very important, also from the perspective of EU integration, so we want cooperation with Japanese companies in this field, stated Minister of Energy and Mining Saša Mujović.
The development of infrastructure, as noted during the meeting, is crucial for Montenegro's development. In this context, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović presented major transportation projects that will completely transform the country.
For the full valorization of the Port of Bar, we need to improve road infrastructure, especially railways. Therefore, we will improve every inch of railway infrastructure in the next few years. We will invest heavily in highways and expressways and want to involve Japanese companies in these projects, Minister Radulović conveyed.
