Minister Radulović and Ambassador Hysa: Montenegro and Kosovo have bilateral relations based upon good-neighborly cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović spoke today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Montenegro Ylber Hysa.

Interlocutors assessed that Montenegro and Kosovo have bilateral relations based upon principles of mutual confidence, good neighborliness, and European perspective.

Minister Radulović stated that Montenegro remains committed to its foreign policy objectives, among which is building close relations with its neighbors, with the objective of preserving long-lasting stability in the Western Balkans.

Ambassador Hysa said that he will continue to strengthen bilateral relations with the newly elected Government of Montenegro. On that line, he underlined that one of the key priorities is mitigating the COVID-19 consequences, as well as vaccination of citizens, in order to initiate economic activities as we are approaching touristic season.

At the meeting, the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Kosovo was discussed, while expressing the belief that it will be held in a fair and democratic atmosphere, and that free will of the citizens will be the foundation for the continuation of the reform process, at domestic as well as at foreign policy plan. On that line, course of resolving the remaining open issues was emphasized, with the focus on the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Interlocutors also agreed to continue their communication further in areas of mutual interest.
