Ibrahimović - Grlić Radman: Montenegro and Croatia, as partners and allies, committed to resolving open issues in a spirit of friendly and neighborly relations
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ervin Ibrahimović, met today in Bar with his Croatian counterpart, Gordan Grlić Radman, who is visiting Montenegro on the occasion of the Croatian National Day celebration.
Deputy Prime Minister Ibrahimović hosted the Croatian delegation, led by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, on a tour of the school ship "Jadran" in the port of Bar.
Montenegro and Croatia are partner states and allies, dedicated to enhancing bilateral relations and engaging in open dialogue on all unresolved issues in a spirit of friendly and neighborly cooperation, agreed Ministers Ibrahimović and Grlić Radman.
Congratulating the Croatian community in Montenegro on their National Day, Ibrahimović emphasized that the Croatian community plays a strong and recognizable role in Montenegro’s cultural diversity and contributes significantly to the country’s development. He highlighted that Croatia is an important partner in Montenegro’s European path, continuously providing support in the integration process.
"I am confident that, as a neighboring state and ally, Croatia wishes to see Montenegro in the European Union soon. I view our bilateral relations in that context, and today’s meeting is further confirmation of our sincere commitment to open dialogue on all matters of mutual interest," said Ibrahimović.
He expressed his belief that as friendly, neighboring, and allied states, Montenegro and Croatia can reach mutually acceptable solutions to all issues, stressing that Montenegro is ready to translate its commitment to preserving and strengthening good neighborly relations with Croatia into concrete actions that will further improve interstate relations.
"We share democratic values and strategic development directions, and we must not allow anything to stand in the way of our shared European future. Guided by this, we will continue with intensive dialogue and communication in the period ahead," Ibrahimović stated.
Grlić Radman affirmed that Croatia strongly supports Montenegro’s European path, just as it previously supported its Euro-Atlantic integration.
"What is important to us is the security, stability, and prosperity of Montenegro as a future EU member, and Montenegro will, as it has all these years, have Croatia’s full support and expert assistance. Croatia sincerely advocates for the successful completion of Montenegro’s European journey," emphasized Radman.
He added that all unresolved issues would be discussed bilaterally, acknowledging that the Government of Montenegro has shown great interest in resolving them. "Montenegro can count on our extended hand, and I am sure that we will continue our dialogue in this affirmative manner," concluded Grlić Radman.
