Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović held discussions with his counterparts, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, and UK Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Stephen Doughty, on the sidelines of the Berlin Process Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
The talks focused on regional cooperation and the European integration process. Minister Ibrahimović briefed his counterparts on Montenegro’s progress in implementing its European agenda and efforts to strengthen partnerships both bilaterally and multilaterally.
The importance of reinforcing bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of economy and addressing security challenges, was highlighted. It was also emphasised that European integration is crucial for the stability and further development of the region, with the Western Balkans seen as an integral part of Europe.
Minister Ibrahimović expressed gratitude to partner nations for their comprehensive support for Montenegro’s reforms, especially in the rule of law, economic growth, and anti-corruption efforts. He noted that the expert and political backing from friendly nations significantly contributes to Montenegro’s progress on its European path and the achievement of key foreign policy goals.
In all discussions, the Minister reiterated Montenegro's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council, underscoring the country’s commitment to maintaining open and constructive dialogue, promoting regional cooperation, and being a reliable partner to the international community.
