Ibrahimović-Zukorlić: Regional cooperation contributes to overall development and the success of the European path
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Mr. Ervin Ibrahimović met today with the Minister without Portfolio in charge of reconciliation, regional cooperation, and social stability of the Republic of Serbia Usame Zukorlić.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, with particular attention to potential opportunities in the fields of economy, tourism, as well as railway and road transport.
Minister Ibrahimović emphasized that the European integration of the Western Balkans has no alternative and that strengthening regional security and stability is a key prerequisite for further prosperity. He highlighted the reform processes within the European agenda, which positively impact regional development, underscoring Montenegro’s readiness, as the frontrunner in EU accession negotiations, to support the countries of the region on their path to the EU.
Minister Zukorlić noted that there is significant room for advancing cooperation and connectivity between the two countries. He particularly emphasized the importance of infrastructure projects, which would stimulate overall engagement—both among economic actors and local communities—while fostering deeper cooperation in the areas of tourism and economy.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on identity-related issues and the importance of protecting and promoting minority rights. Both sides expressed readiness to continue dialogue on all key topics of the bilateral agenda.
