Kordić: Incentives to achieve more efficient results
The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's session, adopted the Information on the model of providing funds for the needs of more efficient functioning of the teams in charge of preparing and conducting negotiations on Montenegro's accession to the European Union. In this way, for the first time, a financial incentive is provided for work in working groups for negotiations with the EU. The allocated funds for 2022 amount to 867 thousand euros.
Starting from the key foreign policy priority - EU membership and Government's intention to encourage and preserve skills and capacities for the implementation of the acquis communautaire by investing in human capital, the Cabinet adopted the Information submitted by the European Integration Office, which will create a stimulating environment for achieving the most efficient results within the teams that directly work on fulfilling all obligations from the negotiation process and define the modalities of providing funds for the functioning of teams in charge of preparing and conducting negotiations on Montenegro's accession to the European Union.
This is a significant step forward when it comes to encouraging those who directly participate in the implementation of all EU agenda obligations, since for the first time since the opening of negotiations with the EU in 2012 we have the opportunity to positively stimulate the work and proactivity of all members of EU working groups, including representatives of the civil sector, said Chief Negotiator Zorka Kordić.
This approach, she said, encourages and rewards the efforts of those directly involved in carrying out all tasks necessary to meet the final benchmarks in all chapters, i.e. provisional benchmarks in Chapter 23 and Chapter 24, as well as to harmonise our legal system with the acquis communautaire and prepare institutions for its full implementation.
