MFA: Montenegro at the Conference on the Future of Europe

In the upcoming period, Montenegro will continue to implement reforms even stronger and more agile, especially in the field of the rule of law, which presents a backbone of the accession process – Head of Montenegrin Diplomacy Đorđe Radulović said, as the only Minister of Foreign Affairs from Western Balkans who participated at the Conference on the Future of Europe.

Expressing special pleasure that, as a representative of Montenegro, whose citizens support the idea of membership of their country in large percentage, he was invited to exchange thoughts on this relevant topic, Head of Montenegrin Diplomacy assessed that participation of the countries of the Region in the work of the Conference is important because our societies are given a unique opportunity to, together with other EU members, take part in the decision making process that is important for shaping the future of the European continent.

Also, Head of Montenegrin Diplomacy pointed out that he is proud because the Western Balkans region will be amongst priorities of the French presidency of the Council of the European Union.

In his address, Minister Radulović pointed out readiness of Montenegro, as a state to which, European integration and regional cooperation present guiding ideas, to proactively acts in promoting values of this Conference, especially in the field of Green agenda, digital transformation, health challenges and migration, as topics which concern all of us. Therefore, only through constructive cooperation, both on regional and European level, it is possible to effectively tackle with challenges.

Describing the Conference on the Future of Europe as a political instrument for strengthening the dynamics of the enlargement process, Radulovic pointed out that Montenegro recognizes its transformative potential, and concluded that the future of the EU implies joining of Western Balkan countries to the European family.
