Minister Radulović and Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa: Economic linking of two countries in the focus

Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović met today with non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa in Montenegro, with residence in Athens, Beryl Rose Sisulu.

Minister Radulović welcomed Ambassador Sisulu and wished success during the mandate. He stressed that two countries are connected by friendship, while emphasizing the constructive cooperation that two diplomatic representations in Athens are realizing, with expressed hope that bilateral relations and political dialogue will be intensified in the following period. In that context, Minister Radulović highlighted that the new impulse to the foreign policy of Montenegro in this part of the world has been given by opening of the Honorary Consulate in Durban, thus that intention is to improve cooperation in the trade area with the Republic of South Africa, as the most prominent and developed countries in its continent.

Head of Montenegrin diplomacy also expressed the pleasure with so far excellent multilateral cooperation with the Republic of South Africa, that has been reflected in support to many candidacies in the UN bodies.

Ambassador Sisulu expressed the gratitude for reception, while appraising that she will be committed to the improvement of overall relations with Montenegro, that is approaching the EU with big steps. She stressed that during her first visit to our country, has been witnessing that “Montenegro is featured with extreme beauty, peace and noble people “, as well as that there are many areas with potential for cooperation and joint projects. She also highlighted praises of the diplomats from her country that participated in the program of Summer Diplomatic School “Gavro Vuković”, organized by Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

Minister Radulović expressed the hope that the Republic of South Africa, as very affected by challenges brought by corona virus pandemic, will successfully overcome difficulties that such complicated situation carries. He stated that Montenegro very appreciate resolute efforts that her Government invest in order to mitigate consequences of the crisis on economy of that country. In that context, collocutors agreed that pandemic doesn’t recognize national, nor continental borders, thus that vaccination is the only way for humanity to bring victory in this fight.
