Minister Radulović and Counselor of the US Department of State Derek Chollet

“Peace in Europe has no price, and solidarity and unity are essential. In this context, for Montenegro, NATO presents an alliance of unity, which means that we stand one by another in all crises which happen on the continent”, Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović said during talks with Derek Chollet Counselor of the Department of State of the United States of America, regarding most recent events concerning the development of the situation in Ukraine.

Counselor Chollet conveyed greetings of US State Secretary Blinken to the Montenegrin Head of Diplomacy, pointing out the importance of cooperation, open communication and unity amongst allies, as well as the intention to do everything in order to continue the dialogue on this important topic. In this context, he emphasized that the American administration is aware of Montenegro’s strong position within NATO.

With reiterated message that peace is an essential principle for us, Minister Radulović pointed out that our country stands by our allies in global efforts to protect democracy and human rights. Such position, as he said, is the best evidence that the Euro-Atlantic path, on which we always had US support, does not have an alternative for us.

Speaking of the alliance between our countries, he pointed out that it is not just a value of our era, but that through history, the United States were always a true friend who stood by Montenegro. This most valuable legacy, obliges us to value such relationship in the future as well. He expressed hope that excellent cooperation will be additionally improved in the upcoming period.
