Minister Radulović and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Pačeko: We want a world in which we are at the service of the citizens
"There is no democracy without parliament, the basic precondition is dialogue. We want a world in which every vote counts, in which we are at the service of the citizens." With these words, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Đorđe Radulović, confirmed that Montenegro stands firmly with the motto of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, assembling with its President Duart Paček.
During the conversation with the president of the global organization of national parliaments of the world, the head of Montenegrin diplomacy pointed out that Montenegro has the values of democracy and political dialogue that shared them with the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which is focused on these goals at the global level.
President Pačeko stated that peace, democracy, human rights, gender equality, youth empowerment, and sustainable development are the main goals of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy for the executive branch.
As a parliamentarian coming from Portugal, he was added today, as the European Union has more members, it is harder to reach a consensus, and his country supports the EU's enlargement policy.
"We hope that soon we will have the opportunity to welcome Montenegro into the European family," Paceko concluded.
Minister Radulović added that reforms are necessary to join the EU and that they represent our work, which we must do dedicatedly and continuously. After Portugal's presidency of the EU Council, as concluded, we believe that Slovenia, as the next presidency, will fully understand our aspirations and support the EU perspective.
