Minister Radulović at meeting with director of KAS foundation Beckamm Dirkes: Montenegro fully committed to EU integration process

Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović met today with Director of German Foundation Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Norbert Beckamm Dirkes.

Minister Radulović expressed the pleasure with fact that KAS, through its over years’ presence in country, strongly contributes to the process of democratization of society, as well as to the progress on EU path. “Open and frank dialogue with representatives of KAS foundation is always desirable and tremendously constructive, bearing in mind fundamental principles of this organization’s functioning”, Head of Montenegrin diplomacy stressed.

Minister Radulović informed collocutor about dynamic of activities in the context of negotiation process with EU, therefore emphasized that all negotiation chapters are opened, while three are being temporarily closed. Nevertheless, as he stated, intensity of negotiations should be accelerated and strengthened, while special emphasis needs to be oriented towards 23 and 24 chapters, bearing in mind that they are corner stones of socio-economic development.

He also uttered that support of Government of FR of Germany, as strongest advocate of enlargement policy, as well as Bundestag and political foundations, will be great significance for the promptest accession of Montenegro to EU. Therefore, he highlighted that his first visit abroad was realized in Berlin, as strong message of our foreign policy course. 

KAS’ director Beckamm Dirkes congratulated to Minister on assuming duties, while expressing pleasure with hitherto cooperation between Montenegro and KAS foundation. He informed collocutor with key alignments of this organization such as contribution to the establishing of peace, security and prosperity in Europe and world, within which Western Balkans has extremely important position.

In that regard, he stated that Montenegro, as a frontrunner in EU integrations, represents vital partner to KAS and FR of Germany, thus that in the following period direct contacts and cooperation should be additionally intensified. He voiced that KAS remains strong supporter of our European direction.
