Minister Radulović at the meeting of foreign ministers SEECP : Montenegro will take over the presidency next year - another proof of our commitment to constructive regional cooperation
Montenegro will take over the one-year SEECP chairmanship from Greece, starting in June next year.
"This is a kind of confirmation not only of the successful presidency of regional initiatives, but also of the constructive role that Montenegro has in the region that is conncted by a common European perspective," said Foreign Minister Djordje Radulovic during today's meeting of foreign ministers of Southeast European Cooperation ( SEECP), accepting the offer of the members of this forum.
"We are looking forward to having the opportunity to once again show our commitment to regional cooperation, precisely through the presidency of such an important process," he concluded. The head of Montenegrin diplomacy is attending the ministerial meeting that is being held in Antalya, at the invitation of his Turkish colleague Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Minister Radulović thanked the host for the excellent organization of the event, and praised Turkey's one-year presidency of the SEECP in a challenging and dynamic period followed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He also wished success to Greece, as the next SEECP chair.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Minister Radulović met with Slovenian Foreign Minister Anže Logar. The interlocutors confirmed that the common foundation are Euro-Atlantic values, which represent an additional incentive for further strengthening of the already rich bilateral cooperation. "Montenegro is counting on further support of Slovenia, as a friend and partner, in the process of joining the EU," said Minister Radulović.
