Minister Radulović at the meeting with Ambassador Belhaj: Enhancing of economic and touristic cooperation of Montenegro and Morocco
Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović met today with the non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Montenegro, based in Belgrade, H.E. Mohammed Amin Belhaj. On that occasion, he assessed that two countries are nourishing fruitful relations that are needed to be strengthened even further through the dynamization of activities in areas of mutual interest.
Minister Radulović pointed out potential interstate cooperation in areas of economy and tourism, thus emphasizing that the planned signing of bilateral agreements about cooperation in aerial and maritime transportation will be an additional impetus for enhancing our bilateral relations. As stated, activities within these sectors will contribute to strengthening touristic contacts and trade exchange, thus enhancing the visibility of Montenegro as a credible touristic and investment destination.
The Head of Montenegrin diplomacy also expressed the interest in knowledge-sharing and exchange of best practices in terms of innovative modules and new technologies in areas of solar energy, having in mind Moroccan experience within the field, in which “Montenegro perceives great development chances”. In that context, he highlighted that one of the priorities of our foreign policy is economic diplomacy, and in that terms, the focus of Montenegrin diplomatic network activities will be placed on intensifying contacts and cooperation with business communities.
Ambassador Belhaj expressed gratitude to Minister Radulović on the reception, while agreeing with the assessment of bilateral relations between the two countries. In that regard, he conveyed the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco Nasser Bourita to Minister Radulović for an official visit to their country, with the objective of strengthening of contacts and dynamization of activities within interstate cooperation domain.
“Visit shall be an ideal occasion for signing the acknowledged agreements of cooperation in aerial and maritime transportation, as well as the Memorandum of Cooperation between Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and Academy for Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, thus empowering legal framework of our cooperation”, stated Ambassador Belhaj.
At the meeting, national plans of immunization of population were discussed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Collocutor agreed on further communication regarding the organizing of official visit of Minister Radulović to the Kingdom of Morocco in the following period.
