Minister Radulović: Fifteen years of open and credible partnership between Montenegro and the United Nations
Today, Montenegro marks an important jubilee - 15 years since membership in the United Nations and the day when the Montenegrin flag was flown for the first time on the East River. Montenegro's accession to the World Organization was then and today the broadest possible confirmation of the recognition of our renewed independence, resulting in strong support of the United Nations system on the democratic and overall reform path of Montenegro - said Foreign Minister Djordje Radulovic.
The head of Montenegrin diplomacy said that fifteen years later, our country remains an open and credible partner to the international community, a promoter of good neighborly relations and multilateralism and a leading candidate for the first new EU member.
Today, when we are facing an unprecedented health crisis, but also the erosion of unity and international trust, we must make additional efforts to overcome geostrategic divisions and strengthen the UN, in order to respond to numerous modern challenges and adversities in a timely and adequate manner - said Minister Radulovic.
He added that in this endeavor, the World Organization can count on the full support of Montenegro, which remains tirelessly committed to the goals of the UN and the principles of the Charter of the People, all in order to achieve a vision of a better future for generations to come.
