Minister Radulović talked with Ambassadors of Republic of India and Kingdom of Denmark
Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović talked today with Ambassadors on non – resident basis of Republic of India Jaideep Mazumdar and Kingdom of Denmark Susanne Shine.
Minister Radulović has, while congratulating to Mazumdar on assuming duties, expressed the belief that friendly relations between Montenegro and India will be upgraded during his mandate. Head of Montenegrin diplomacy stated that, even from Yugoslav period, there are close relations with India, so that Montenegro is committed to building relations with that country.
He accentuated the importance of political dialogue, while passing invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India for his first official visit to Montenegro. He reminded on successful realization of Second Bilateral Consultations of two ministries, where stressed that this cooperation mechanism should be continued in order to define joint projects.
Minister Radulović emphasized areas of tourism and culture as cooperation potentials, aiming at improving of image of Montenegro as world-known tourism destination, appraising also that it would be very important to realize contacts of two countries in areas of agriculture and culture.
Ambassador Mazumdar agreed that two ministries should undertake all the steps needed oriented at strengthening cooperation in fields of culture, tourism, energy, technology and innovations. On that line, he informed that India is marking 75 years of independence during next year, thus they are planning to organize series of events in Montenegro in order to introduce Indian culture to Montenegrin people.
Collocutors talked about possibilities of procurement and distribution of vaccines from India for Montenegrin health system, thus agreed continuation of intensive communication in that regard.
During the meeting between Minister Radulović and Ambassador Shine, it was stated that two countries nurture friendly and ally relations, with potential for intensifying overall bilateral cooperation. In that regard, Minister Radulović stressed the importance of dynamization of political contacts and dialogue with country which is characterized by high level of socio-economic development and credibility of institutions.
Head of Montenegrin diplomacy informed collocutor with intention of Montenegrin Government to open the Embassy in Copenhagen in the promptest time, as a clear signal of our foreign policy orientation towards political West of Europe.
Minister Radulović highlighted the significance of support of Denmark and other Nordic countries in process of our European integration, while uttering that EU membership remains our ultimate goal to which we are fully devoted. He also stressed that special attention in enhancing of bilateral contacts needs to be focused on projects targeting topics such as renewable energy sources and climate change, agriculture, environment and possibilities of usage of Bar’s Port as main point for import of Danish products for our region. In that regard, he expressed interest for organization of some kind of investment forum at which we could present investments opportunities of our country to Danish entrepreneurs.
Ambassador Shine expressed the gratitude on reception, with articulated pleasure with hitherto communication on institutional level. As she stated, Kingdom of Denmark is particularly interested in Western Balkans’ region, in which Montenegro has great importance. In that context, Ambassador voiced that her country perceives Montenegro as reliable NATO ally and credible future partner in EU. She agreed with statement of Minister Radulović on need for intensifying cooperation in various areas of common interest with focus on environment and climate change, reflecting all aspects of economy and sustainable development.
They discussed also about possibilities of Minister Radulović’s visit to Copenhagen, when epidemiological circumstances allow.
