Ministers Radulović and Panagiotopoulos: NATO is stability framework in Balkans, and Montenegrin place is in the EU

Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović talked today with Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Greece Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos during the official visit to that country. “Greece provides full support so Western Balkans can be permanently in the NATO and EU focus”, that is a key message of the meeting in Athens.

Minister Radulović appraised friendship of two states, that we could be proud of, having in mind 140 years of establishment of diplomatic relations, as well as the fact that our country and Greece, besides traditional cultural ties, today are allies within Alliance. He stressed that Montenegro perceives NATO as the best framework for stability of the Region, so that we are committed to contributing to the more stable, secure and safe environment. “Peace, stability and security as well as the European Integration, must be guide for all, for more prosper future of the Region”, he stated, while expressing belief that two countries will continue to intensively work on that agenda. In that context, Minister Panagiotopoulos expressed firm belief that place of the Western Balkans is in the EU, as well as that NATO has key role for the region’s stability.

Greek minister expressed the interest for exchanging visit at defense minister level, confirming readiness to visit Podgorica in the forthcoming period. On that line, he evaluated that bilateral cooperation of defense ministries and armies is excellent.

Minister Radulović emphasized the importance of Greek participation on the Program of Air Protection of Montenegro (Air Policing), and expressed gratitude for continuing political and expert support, as well as significant fact that Montenegrin officers are educating on prestige military schools of that country.
