Ministers Radulović and Roth: Montenegro and FR of Germany have intensive political dialogue and fruitful cooperation
Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović spoke today in an online format with the Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Michael Roth.
On that occasion, he assessed that relations between Montenegro and FR of Germany symbolize intensive political dialogue and fruitful cooperation, as it shows the recent visit of the Head of Montenegrin diplomacy to Berlin, as well as virtual conversation of the Prime Minister Krivokapić with the German Chancellor Merkel.
Minister Radulović said that Montenegro and Germany are friends, partners, and allies and that we are sturdily committed to fostering relations between Podgorica and Berlin. On that line, he emphasized that our foreign policy priorities remain the same and that our country is decisively oriented to become a fully-fledged member of the European Union, which is empowered with the strong support of our citizens. Head of Montenegrin diplomacy pointed out that the Government is ready to conduct reforms and fulfill its obligations so as to commence with the closing of Chapters as soon as possible, and that for us, the support of Germany represents reassurance for further process of negotiations.
Minister Roth assessed that bilateral relations are very good, and that there is room for their enhancement. He emphasized that Germany is committed to the European aspirations of Montenegro and Western Balkans, as well as to the strengthening of links of our societies and peoples. German Minister stressed that Montenegro represents an example in the Western Balkans, and that they value the commitment of our country to bolstering the rule of law, democracy, and media freedoms. In that context, he stated that we could count on support from Germany, having in mind how challenging those questions are, not only to countries of the Western Balkans, but for some countries of the EU as well.
In an open and productive conversation, Ministers exchanged theirs views on the actual domestic situation, thus pointing out the importance of maintaining progress in the area of the rule of law, multiethnic and multireligious coherence. On that line, they underlined the important role the Government is playing in securing and promoting stability.
Interlocutors highlighted the importance of continuation of communication regarding specific projects, thus they considered the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the area of immunization of citizens.
Minister Radulović conveyed the invitation to German Minister to visit Montenegro as soon as epidemiological conditions allow, which Minister Roth accepted while stating that he would welcome the opportunity that during the tête-à-tête meeting with the Head of Montenegrin diplomacy discuss the subjects of common interest even further.
