Ministers Radulović and Vidal: Montenegro and France will improve cooperation in the areas of high education, science and innovations
“Cooperation in the field of high education, science and innovations is key incentive for improving the bilateral relations”, as it has been appraised at the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović and Minister of High Education, Research and Innovations of the Republic of France Frédérique Vidal.
Head of Montenegrin diplomacy expressed the gratitude to collocutor on personal engagement in order to establish communication with Montenegrin academic society, that represents good basis for intensifying further activities on promotion of bilateral cooperation in the education.
“We particularly appreciate every initiative and project that promoting the concept “science diplomacy” between Montenegro and France, as countries that are friends and allies”, Minister Radulović stated.
Two ministers stressed the necessity of identifying several key topics in joint activities, that will be realized in direct contact between Montenegrin and French ministry in the education area. In that context, organization of online talk between Minister Vidal and her Montenegrin colleague, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Vesna Bratić has been agreed.
While emphasizing the importance of science and innovations in the context of creating the optimal conditions for overall social progress, Minister Radulović emphasized possibility of cooperation within the EU and South-East Europe. Speaking about that topic, he separated SEEIST project, that activities, with French support, could result with establishing the center in Podgorica.
“Montenegro is committed to the integration in the EU and the European value system, so in that spirit we follow the Union’s trends in domain of modernization of the education, and within ERASMUS+ program we are realizing cooperation with four French universities”, Head of Montenegrin diplomacy uttered.
Minister Vidal welcomed progress of Montenegro on the European integration path, while emphasizing that in that process programs of training and high education are very important. She also emphasized on the importance of joint activities in regard to communication and cooperation of academic communities of two countries.
Collocutors agreed on need to further promote French language in Montenegro, as one of the EU official languages. “We welcome initiative of Embassy of France in Podgorica for realizing idea of bilingual department in one of Montenegrin schools, where French language is presented”, Head of Montenegrin diplomacy stated.
During working visit to Paris, Minister Radulović also met with representatives of French Institute for International Relations. On that occasion, he informed collocutors with foreign policy priorities of the Government, in regard with which credible alliance in the NATO and particularly expected membership in the EU remains on the top of the Agenda.
“Montenegro is strongly committed to all activities on the EU path, in which special attention we devote to internal reforms processes. We are sure that European partners will recognize effort of Montenegro, thus continue to support our aspiration for membership”, Minister Radulović uttered.
