Ministry of Capital Investments partner on the Project SEAVEWS
Project ECOVAWES (Enhanching COoperation in WAste management from VESsels in ADRION ports) focuses on enhancement of the capacity in transnationally tackling environmental vulnerability, fragmentation and the safeguarding of ecosystem services in the Adriatic-Ionian area and management and prevention of pollution diffusion in particular by developing models aimed at supporting waste management/recycling in port areas. The core objective of the project is to establish a long-term transnational sustainable and well-coordinated vessel waste management model, including technical features regarding port waste management and well-structured communicating strategies to share different skills acquired and highly functioning waste disposal procedures. Innovative models in port waste management systems, monitoring data collection and sharing, agreement deeds signed by cruising lines and properly equipped port waste reception areas will be benefits for all partners who will share new policies locally, nationally and transnationally together with good practices manual and videos. Providing ports with new equipment, getting an agreement with cruiser lines and ship operators will mean real response for waste management and environmental quality.
