Montenegro gets National Digital COVID certificate, new measures from Friday

Published on: Jul 26, 2021 1:15 PM Author: Ministry of Health

Ahead of joining the EU digital COVID certificate, Montenegro will get the National Digital COVID certificate, which should be in use from Friday, 30 July, when the Government of Montenegro is expected to announce new COVID-related measures.

The national digital COVID certificate will contain the following information:

1) That the person has been fully vaccinated or received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine;

2) Date and time of negative PCR test (negative PCR test not older than 72 hours is accepted);

3) Proof that the person has recovered from COVID-19, i.e. proof that less than 180 days have passed since the positive PCR test;

4) Proof of a negative rapid antigen test (BAT not older than 48 hours is accepted);

The Ministry of Health is implementing this project in cooperation with UNDP.

In Montenegro, the EU digital COVID certificate is accepted, as well as all digital certificates that have a QR code. The digital COVID certificate is only valid with a valid document, ID card or passport.

There is a solution for tourists who have a vaccination certificate without a digitally signed QR code. They can verify their certificate in any health institution and it will be valid as long as they stay in our country.

If foreigners are not vaccinated, they will be able, like Montenegrin citizens, to do a PCR or BAT test at their own expense, and thus get a certificate, which is necessary to enter discos, nightclubs and indoor cafes and restaurants.
