Montenegro to host Ocean Race Europe 2025 finale
Montenegro will host a leg of the international sailing competition, "The Ocean Race Europe 2025," announced Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović, marking the first time this event will be held in the Adriatic Sea.
The race will take place in September 2025, starting in the Baltic Sea and concluding in the Mediterranean. The final leg will take place in the Bay of Kotor, and Radulović expressed excitement about welcoming sailors and fans to celebrate the unity and love for the sea.
The Ocean Race is one of the world's premier sailing events, promoting ocean protection and attracting a large number of participants. The event's finale will highlight Montenegro’s maritime heritage and European identity.
Hosting the race will enhance Montenegro's reputation as a sailing and tourism destination, with Radulović projecting a positive economic impact on the country’s GDP, estimated at €8.3 million.
Radulović added that the event is expected to further promote Montenegro as a tourist destination, with an estimated 96,000 visitors to the Bay of Kotor during the four-day event. The visibility and promotion of Montenegro will be ensured across all stops of The Ocean Race Europe 2025, reaching around 1.35 million people.
