Montenegro's basketball team honored for historic World Cup achievement

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović hosted a reception today for the senior national basketball team of Montenegro, their coaching staff, and the leadership of the Basketball Federation, following their participation in the World Cup in Manila.

The Prime Minister congratulated the players and coaching staff on their historic achievement and emphasised the contribution of Coach Radović, who he praised for carrying a significant burden in challenging circumstances.

Prime Minister Abazović highlighted that it's not about how much money or resources one has, but the importance of having a big heart, which Montenegro demonstrated during this tournament. He expressed gratitude to the players and acknowledged the sponsors who supported the team.

Nikola Vučević, a representative of the team, stressed the special significance of the support from the fans and thanked the coaching staff, the Basketball Federation, and his teammates for their efforts.

Minister of Sports Vasilije Lalošević expressed his respect and pride for the players.

Nikola Peković, the President of the Basketball Federation, expressed his pride in the team's historic achievement, emphasising the importance of this accomplishment.

Coach Boško Radović expressed gratitude to the Montenegrin government for their support and stated that the national basketball team is now at the forefront of world basketball.

The reception was attended by Minister Dragoslav Šćekić, sports officials, media representatives, and sponsors of the national basketball team.
