PM Krivokapić attends Menorah lighting ceremony
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić attended the Menorah lighting ceremony and lit the first candle on the occasion of the celebration of one of the happiest Jewish holidays - Hanukkah.
The Hanukkah celebration was held in the synagogue of the Jewish Community of Montenegro, and the first candle on Erev Hanukkah, the day before the holiday starts, was lit in the presence of the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish community in Montenegro Luciano Moše Prelević, Ambassador of Israel Jahel Villan, and President of the Jewish Community in Montenegro Nina Ofner Bokan.
The lighting of the first candle was followed by a prayer, followed by the song Ma’oz Tzur and a traditional kosher meal.
Prime Minister Krivokapić said that the Hanukkah's universal messages are an opportunity to remind ourselves, as a society, of true values, such as unity, tolerance, solidarity, and the fight for a just society.
