PM Krivokapić meets with President of the Estonian Parliament
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić met today with President of the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia Jüri Ratas.
Prime Minister Krivokapić emphasised the fact that Estonia was the first country to ratify the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Montenegro and the EU. He said that Estonia is Montenegro’s reliable ally, friend and partner. Prime Minister Krivokapić briefed Ratas on the Government's activities aimed at improving the economy.
The Prime Minister presented a strategy for strengthening road and economic infrastructure, as well as economic diversification that will stop the outflow of young people from the north to the central and southern regions of the country and the European Union.
Our strategic goal is for Montenegro to be an inseparable part of the European Union, and a fundamental step refers to the rule of law and the fight against corruption. All projects and forces of this Government are committed to achieving this goal, Krivokapić said.
Prime Minister Krivokapić wished successful work to the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Estonia in Montenegro, which will be opened today in Podgorica, expressing hope that Montenegro would continue to have a sincere ally in achieving the European goal.
President of the Estonian Parliament Ratas did not hide his satisfaction that he is in a "great and beautiful country", and that the reason for this visit is to build even stronger relations between the two countries.
Today, we are opening the Honorary Consulate in Podgorica, and I hope that it will help us achieve more intensive bilateral cooperation, Ratas said.
Emphasising the importance of cyber security, Ratas said that it is necessary to make full use of the existing potentials of cooperation, in order to share experiences in many areas, especially in the sector of informatics and digitalisation.
We are geographically distant, but a large number of our citizens visit your country. There is room for cooperation in the field of education too, said Ratas.
He said that Montenegro can count on Estonia's full support on its European path, adding that future joint proactivity will only deepen the policy of friendship between the two countries.
