PM Krivokapić meets with the Ambassador of Armenia
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Montenegro, based in Prague, H. E. Ashot Hovakimian.
Prime Minister Krivokapić expressed his readiness to intensify diplomatic dialogue at the highest level, since no prime ministerial visit has been carried out since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Krivokapić said that he was looking forward to the upcoming handover of the credentials by the Ambassador of Montenegro Dragica Ponorac to the President of the Republic of Armenia, which is scheduled for 25 May, as well as that a significant jubilee should be marked this year - the fifteenth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Armenia.
We want friendly relations with the state, people and culture with which, in the recent past, the citizens of Montenegro had significant relations, Krivokapić said.
The Prime Minister expressed support to the High Representative of Armenia for the efforts that the Armenian Government and all institutions are making to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
PM Krivokapić pointed out that the whole world, including Montenegro and Armenia, are in a time of great challenges, but that he hopes that the whole humanity will emerge from the evident humanitarian crisis successfully and with another great experience that teaches everyone that they must improve and develop policies based on solidarity, mutual assistance and understanding.
Ambassador Hovakimian thanked for the warm welcome and pointed out that Armenia has traditionally good relations with Montenegro, but that he wants to return them to the level they once were, and that Armenia is ready to strengthen and enrich cooperation with Montenegro in the future.
"We believe that there is a mutual desire, interest and room for cooperation, especially in the field of economy, culture and education," Ambassador Hovakimian emphasised.
