PM Krivokapić participated in the virtual Berlin Process Summit: Montenegro sincerely committed to the promotion of regional cooperation
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić participated in the virtual Western Balkans Summit within the Berlin Process, organised by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Today's session was thematically dedicated to the seventh anniversary of this Process, i.e. its achievements aimed at rapprochement of the region, and current and future goals.
Prime Minister Krivokapić expressed his gratitude to Chancellor Angela Merkel for organising today's Summit and to the German Presidency for all the efforts they have made since the beginning of the Presidency of the Process.
PM Krivokapić emphasised that the results of the Berlin Process so far are quite concrete, visible and tangible and that they lead to the rapprochement of the region, which results in bringing the Western Balkans closer to the practices, achievements and values of the European Union.
The recent achievement concerning the reduction of roaming prices for all citizens of the region, deserves every praise and is an example in which direction and in which way we should cooperate, Krivokapić said.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro reminded the Summit participants of the regional and global issues during the Berlin Process, but that the migrant crisis, natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to making an unforeseen blow to national resources, economies and the common market, on the other hand, have united the Western Balkans and Europe, strengthened solidarity and renewed messages of humanity.
PM Krivokapić reaffirmed that Montenegro is sincerely committed to the promotion of regional cooperation and that it is ready to fulfill all obligations arising from this regional initiative and within other, relevant international organisations, because only cooperation, dialogue and meeting high European standards guarantee regional stability and the European perspective.
Preseident of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, RCC Secretary General Majlinda Bregu, Director of CEFTA Emir Đikić, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, UK Minister for European Neighborhood and the Americas Wendy Morton, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Interim Bulgarian Prime Minister Stefan Janev, Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković, and Prime Minister of Slovenia Janez Janša also took part in the Summit.
