PM Krivokapić: We will always remember the Murino victims
On the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the bombing of the village of Murino, Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić laid a wreath at the monument to the Murino victims. Alongside the Prime Minister, the Government delegation also included Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vesna Bratić and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Stijović.
Krivokapić reminded that in August last year, he announced that he would visit Murino at the earliest opportunity, in order to personally express his respect for the victims.
"Today, I am fulfilling that promise and laying a wreath to show that Montenegro does not forget a single victim, and that by remembering such events we express our faith that such suffering will never happen again," said Prime Minister Krivokapić, pointing out that the previous government bypassed Murino, but that the new Government will correct that, as well as other injustices.
"We are marking the 22nd anniversary of the death of innocent victims in Murino, including three children, on a day that is a symbol of suffering. My thoughts are with the families of Julija, Olivera, Miroslav, Vukić, Milka and Manojlo. They will always live in our memories, and their innocent sacrifice and tragic fate are a warning and an obligation to our entire society to preserve peace, coexistence and harmony," said the Prime Minister.
Krivokapić emphasised that Montenegro, during a little more than two decades after these unfortunate events, went through various phases of socio-political development.
"Such events have remained a painful part of the past, and our country has embarked on the path of renewal and prosperity, cherishing democracy and justice as the foundations of its state policy. Nevertheless, we will forever remember the human sacrifices that Montenegro made. May they have eternal glory," Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić concluded.
