PMQs - PM Krivokapić: 137 persons receive compensation upon termination of office, which amounts to over EUR 290 thousand per month

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić said that it is clear that it is not enough to change one law, because in Montenegro very often one law endangers another and that intersection between individual laws has not been made.

"We will do it systematically, as we promised the citizens, taking into account social justice. It is noticed that in March 2021, we have 137 persons who receive compensation upon termination of office, and that expenditure on a monthly basis in the net amount is EUR 181,313, and in the gross amount is EUR 293,619. There is one part that we have not been able to completely identify in terms of data, and it refers to the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Defence, the Revenue Administration and two funds - Health Insurance Fund and Pension and Disability Insurance Fund. The UNESCO report talks about how poor this country is, but it also talks about another character – as the country gets poorer, someone else is getting richer. You are aware that the always present economic principle is that one man's income is another man's expenditure," said Prime Minister Krivokapić at the Prime Minister's Questions, answering the question of Božena Jelušić from the MP Group "In Black and White".

Krivokapić said that at this moment we do not have a complete picture of how many state-owned cars there are, adding that the same situation is with state property.

Krivokapić said that the Government has a plan what to do with state property, which will not be sold for 0.99 euros for 99 years, adding that every citizen of Montenegro will benefit from it.

The Prime Minister said that the Ministry of Finance will certainly form a working team in the coming period, which will make all the necessary proposals.

"At this moment, we were thinking whether to withdraw that decision or not, because there are certain formal and legal problems regarding some shortcomings that we failed to do ourselves during this period of time, and that is the formation of a commission that would remove veil of secrecy from another piece of documentation. The moment that is done, that decision will be revoked by the Government. I guarantee that no one in this Government will be treated as an official, but as any other citizen. This means that if he wants to solve problems related to housing or any other needs, he will have to do it like any other citizen. There will be no privileges and benefits," Krivokapić concluded.
