Prime Minister Spajić meets with GIZ delegation
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić hosted a delegation from GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit).
The key message from the meeting was that the current momentum of European integration is too good for Montenegro to miss out on.
In this regard, expert support plays a crucial role, and GIZ is poised to provide it in the upcoming period.
GIZ has had a longstanding presence in Montenegro, collaborating with numerous institutions and achieving success in various projects. The progress Montenegro has made in EU integrations in recent months is truly impressive. Your progress holds regional significance as other countries observe this process closely. This is a pivotal moment, and we are committed to supporting you on this journey, emphasised Daniel Bagwitz, GIZ Country Director.
GIZ operates in over 120 countries, providing expert support in the fields of economy, labour, energy, environment, peace, and security.
With 50 years of experience, GIZ offers Montenegro an excellent opportunity to reach the institutional standards of EU countries.
Continuous expert support is key to enhancing administration. Familiarizing ourselves with the standards of the most developed countries, along with ongoing collaboration with experts, could greatly benefit public sector employees, remarked Prime Minister Spajić during the discussions.
In addition to EU integration, discussions also emphasised the importance of energy development for economic diversification, as well as collaboration in environmental protection and green transition initiatives.
Opportunities for further collaboration in digital transformation were highlighted, along with preparations for Montenegro's economy to join the European single market.
The meeting was attended by German Ambassador Peter Felten.
