Prime Minister with the Ambassadors of Croatia and North Macedonia: Alliance within NATO is important for strengthening bilateral cooperation
In the run-up to the participation in the meeting of NATO leaders from member states of the region with Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, which will be held in Skopje, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić held consultations with the Ambassadors of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of North Macedonia today.
Montenegro is committed to bolstering regional cooperation, and one of the Government's priorities in the upcoming period will be strengthening relations in all areas of shared interest. Relations with Croatia and North Macedonia are additionally strengthened by the alliance within the North Atlantic Alliance - the conclusion of today's consultations.
Croatian Ambassador Veselko Grubišić conveyed the message of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković's support for the European integration of Montenegro and said that Croatia would continue to provide its full contribution both as a member of the European Union and as a neighboring country that cherishes excellent relations with Montenegro.
The Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia, Zećir Ramčilović, expressed his satisfaction with the active communication between the two countries at the highest level and pointed out the importance of the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Spajić to Skopje. The Ambassador assessed that, bearing in mind that this is the first visit in the mandate of the 44th Government, it reflects at the same time a clear intention of Montenegro to cooperate closely with the countries of the region both within NATO and in terms of achieving the common goal - membership in the European Union.
The interlocutors assessed that the participation of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić at the meeting of the NATO leaders from member states of the region with Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, which will take place on Wednesday in Skopje, would be a good opportunity to strengthen cooperation within NATO, but also in terms of implementation of specific projects among member states.
At the meeting, the improvement of bilateral cooperation was discussed and it was agreed to continue communication in that regard.
