Public Administration Reform Council holds first session in new composition

The Public Administration Reform Council held its first session in new composition, chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.

The session discussed the Rules of Procedure of the Council, the Public Finance Management Reform Programme (PFM), and the need to establish the coordination structure in order to monitor the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy 2022 – 2026.

PM Abazović pointed out that the reform of the public administration is the reform of the entire society. He called on all competent institutions and decision-makers to view the process of public administration reform as a joint goal and one of the most important goals that will enable fulfillment of certain requirements on our European path.

Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj said that we need an open, inclusive, accessible, and efficient public administration on our European path. It is necessary that we continuously work on improving business processes and digital transformation in order to create a well-functioning and transparent public administration.

Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanović presented the Public Finance Management Reform Programme (PFM), stressing that the adoption of this document will be a priority of the Ministry of Finance in the coming period.

The Council also discussed optimisation and professionalisation of public administration, as well as the transparency of work in the public sector, both at the central and local level, and the challenges they face.

The Prime Minister is the Chair of the Council. Minister of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media Marash Dukaj, Minister of Interior Filip Adžić, Minister of Finance and Social Welfare Aleksandar Damjanović, Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Goran Đurović, Minister of European Affairs Jovana Marović, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Admir Adrović, representative of the Association of the municipalities of Montenero Saša Šćekić, Acting Director of the Human Resources Administration Đuro Nikač, Director of the Agency for Free Access to Information and Personal Data Protection Ivan Medojević, NGO representatives Biljana Papović and Milena Muk, and academic community representative Dražen Cerović have been appointed members of the Council.

Marija Hajduković, Director General of the Directorate for Strategic Planning in Public Administration, International Cooperation and IPA in the Ministry of Public Administration has been appointed Secretary of the Council.
