Radulović – Ciocoi: Friendly ties and European aims ground basis for economic linking of Montenegro and Moldova
“Friendly relations between Montenegro and Moldavia, are based on European goals and numerous potentials for deepening economic cooperation”, Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović emphasized during the phone call with Prime Minister ad interim and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Aureliu Ciocoi.
Minister Radulović stressed that economic diplomacy and attracting foreign investments is one of the priorities in the work of Montenegrin Diplomatic and Consular network and invited for closer communication and exchange of experiences. In that context he stated that there is potential for deepening cooperation in many fields, particularly in tourism, energy, infrastructure and agriculture, while stressing the need for further improvement of trade exchange and boosting investments, thus more efficient use of investment potentials. He expressed Montenegrin support to Moldova on its defined European path, reiterating the fact that EU values, together with further democratization of our societies, represent additional incentive for connecting our two states.
Minister Ciocoi expressed the belief that communication in the following period will be additionally intensified and welcomed commitment of Montenegro to the development of cooperation through participation in regional organizations. On that line, two officials talked about the importance of Regional Cooperation Council, while evaluating that in the forthcoming period should organize mutual visits in order to discuss significant topics for further improvement of bilateral relations. The pleasure with constructive cooperation on multilateral level has been also emphasized, particularly in part of providing support in international bodies.
Speaking about pandemic, collocutors concluded that it represents global challenge that requires efficient response, not only in health, but also in economic and social aspect. In that regard, Minister Radulović highlighted efforts of Montenegro aiming at immunization of citizens and endeavors in recognizing our state as secure destination that will provide tourist with safe stay during the following tourism season.
