Radulović with Bilčik and Sannino in Brussels: EU appreciates absolute compliance with the Common Foreign and Security Policy
“EU truly appreciates full compliance with the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), that is equally important as fulfillment of criteria in key chapters”, European MP Vladimir Bilčik appraised during the meeting with Foreign Minister Đorđe Radulović , today in Brussels, after NATO summit.
On that occasion, the commitment of Montenegro to the European integration process has been reiterated, as a key foreign policy priority, while MP Bilčik welcomed our achievements at the EU path hitherto, with encouraging messages that Montenegro and the Western Balkans represent important partners of Union, and thus that enlargement process does not have an alternative. He stated that EU expects more concrete results within negotiations chapters 23 and 24.
In that context, Minister Radulović informed collocutor about all endeavors that Government undertakes in order to implement criteria within negotiation process on qualitative and consistent manner.
“By accepting new methodology we showed readiness to work more responsibly and devotedly on implementation of European policies in concrete areas, simultaneously expressing strong political will in achieving of our European aim”, Head of Montenegrin diplomacy stated.
During stay in Brussels, Minister Radulović met also with the Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS) Stefano Sannino, when it has been emphasized that Montenegro continuously complies its with positions of CFSP, as well that we expect acceleration of negotiation process with strengthening of political dimension of the process. “We will work in intensifying of the integration process so we can realize substantial results, particularly in the most sensitive areas. We believe that EU enlargement process is two way street, so we expect continuation of political support and concrete activities from our European partners”, Foreign Minister concluded.
Secretary General Sannino stressed that the EU fully supports Montenegrin aspirations towards membership in Union, so that European officials will continue to work on intensifying political dialogue as key for achieving this goal. The fact that, as he said, majority of Montenegrin citizens supports future of the country in the EU, is clear indicator of direction of our country. He stressed the importance of political consensus of all actors on integration process, as well as demonstration of political commitment to it.
During meetings collocutors expressed the belief that forthcoming Intergovernmental Conference planned for June 22nd will concretize directions and steps for our further negotiating, as well as expectations of all sides included in process, with unquestionable support of EU states.
