Reforms and good results attract credible investors

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić met with a delegation of investors led by representatives of BofA (Bank of America), who are visiting countries in the Western Balkans.

The meeting focused on reforms that have been initiated and further steps for Montenegro's accession to the European Union while making it more accessible to credible investors.

The Government's agenda relies on three pillars: rule of law, accelerated EU integration, and balanced sustainable economic development. The rule of law is crucial as it enables the other two pillars to develop properly. Further progress on the EU path is conditioned by substantial reforms in the field of the rule of law, as only after obtaining the IBAR for Chapters 23 and 24 can we begin closing other chapters. You can already see from the reactions in Brussels that we have made serious steps in this area, emphasised Prime Minister Spajić.

He stressed the importance of appointments in the judiciary to continue the decisive fight against organised crime and high-level corruption.

The plan for road infrastructure construction was presented, as it is often a bottleneck in economic development.

The importance of reforms in tax policy was also highlighted, ensuring that the system makes sense to investors, allowing them to invest for extended periods, which is particularly significant for raising living standards and strengthening public finances.

In the context of shaping the image of a country that is desirable to invest in, the importance of large investments from the European Union was emphasised, through the provision of non-refundable grants, as well as NATO membership, which is a guarantee of stability.

International investors from London, Boston, and Helsinki, as well as economic analysts from London, Paris, and Dubai, will visit not only Montenegro but also Serbia, Albania, and North Macedonia.
