Selection of the best candidate through a Public Call, a step towards professionalization of the security sector

The Government is fully committed to transparently addressing matters of public interest, providing an opportunity for candidates with the best qualifications to lead institutions and governing bodies.

In this context, to ensure full transparency in the selection of the new acting director of the Police Directorate and to take another small step towards introducing meritocracy in the security sector, a Public Call will be announced for the selection of the acting director of the Police Directorate.

In this way, we aim to further encourage officials who meet the legally prescribed requirements and believe that their experience, knowledge, and competencies can contribute to important societal processes in the field of security, to apply.

Therefore, as was the case with the selection of the acting director of the Tax Administration, the director of the Police Directorate will also be chosen through a Public Call, confirming the Government's commitment to selecting candidates in accordance with the principles of meritocracy.

A public competition for the director of the Police Directorate in a full term will be announced as soon as possible, in accordance with legal obligations.
