The 2nd Cabinet Session – 5 May 2022

The Montenegrin Cabinet, at its second session held today, chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, adopted the Decree on organization and manner of work of state administration. The Decree established a new organization of state administration bodies, with 18 ministries and 24 administrative bodies. Namely, part of the ministries continues to work under the current name, while a number of ministries continue to work under the changed name, and within the scope determined by this Decree. Also, it was determined that the largest number of administrative bodies continues to work under the current name and within the scope determined by this Decree.

The Decision on amending the Decision on applying temporary measures due to the COVID-19 outbreak was adopted, extending the validity period of the current measures until 19 May.

The Cabinet adopted the Information on the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and accepted the text of the Memorandum. This document envisages intensifying the dialogue between the two foreign ministries, primarily through a mechanism of political consultations, with the aim of considering all aspects of bilateral relations and exchanging views on modalities for further development of cooperation and international issues of mutual interest.

The Amendment to the Conclusion of the Government of Montenegro, number: 04-2384/2, dated 27 April 2022, from the session of 20 April 2022, was adopted. Since the new government has been elected, the amendment authorizes Ambassador Božidarka Krunić, Permanent Representative of Montenegro to the Council of Europe, to sign the Second Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cybercrime on enhanced cooperation and disclosure of electronic evidence on behalf of the Government.

In accordance with the provisions of the Law on the National Security Agency, the Cabinet dismissed Director of the Agency Dejan Vukšić. Savo Kentera has been appointed Acting Director of the Agency.

In accordance with the provisions of the Law on basic principles of intelligence and security sector in Montenegro, the Cabinet adopted a Decision on appointments to the National Security Council. The Council is headed by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, while his Deputy is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Raško Konjević. The Council also consists of: Minister of Justice Marko Kovač, Minister of the Interior Filip Adžić, Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanović, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ranko Krivokapić, Acting Director of the National Security Agency Savo Kentera, Chairperson of the Security and Defence Committee Milan Knežević, and Deputy Chairperson of the Security and Defence Committee Mevludin Nuhodžić.
