‎The 50th Cabinet session – 26 April 2023

The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's 50th session, chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović‎‎, adopted ‎ the Draft Law on Tourism and Hospitality with the Report from the Public Debate. The Draft Law envisages Montenegro's commitment to creating a high-quality tourist product, which implies continuous improvement of the quality of service, as well as the accompanying infrastructure for the purpose of positioning Montenegro as a competitive tourist destination. ‎

‎The Decree amending the Decree on the fee for encouraging the production of electricity from renewable sources and high-efficiency cogeneration‎‎ was adopted. The amendment reduces the fee paid by final customers by 50% compared to the current amount.

‎The Cabinet adopted ‎‎a Decision establishing the Rule of Law‎‎ Council, which is aligned with the Decision establishing Montenegro's EU accession negotiation structure. Based on the results of the public call, a representative of the NGO "Juventas" was appointed as a member of the Council. ‎

A decision establishing the Interdepartmental Commission to counter hybrid threats‎‎ was adopted. Bearing in mind Montenegro's obligations arising from NATO membership and the EU accession process, the need for coordination in the field of countering hybrid threats at the national level was recognised. The tasks of the Commission are to coordinate and improve activities in the field of countering hybrid threats at the national level, coordinate and monitor the implementation of undertaken commitments and proposed measures in accordance with regulations and strategic documents adopted in this area, perform analysis and monitoring of hybrid activities.‎

‎In order to comply with the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU, the Cabinet adopted the Decision on imposing international restrictive measures adopted by the Decisions of the Council of the European Union in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

‎The Cabinet adopted ‎the Cultural Property Protection and Conservation Programme for 2023‎‎.‎

The Cabinet adopted the Decision on temporary visa waivers for citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The decision allows citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enter and stay in Montenegro for up to 30 days without a visa, with a valid travel document. The decision shall apply from 5 May to 31 October 2023.
