The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's 57th session chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, adopted the Decision amending Decision concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Ukraine in order to align it with the tenth package of EU sanctions, specifically with the decisions of the Council of the European Union 2022/1507/CFSP of 9 September 2022, and 2023/457/CFSP of 2 March 2023.
The Cabinet adopted the Decision on temporary visa exemption for holders of valid foreign travel documents with residence permits in the United Arab Emirates. The Decision allows entry and stay in Montenegro for up to ten days without a visa for holders of foreign travel documents who possess a valid residence permit in the UAE continuously for at least three years before entering Montenegro. The Decision does not apply to citizens of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, Somalia, and India.
The Cabinet adopted the Programme for the use of funds for water management activities for 2023. The Programme covers basic activities in the field of water management, water protection, flood protection, more efficient water use, as well as the functioning of the Water Information System. The planned funds amount to 551,800 euros, which are provided by the Law on the Budget of Montenegro for 2023. It was assessed that the implementation of the Programme solves key problems in water management, fulfills obligations arrising from EU regulations and improves international cooperation.
The Cabinet adopted the Information on the signing of the Annex to the Agreement between the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia on military technical cooperation and accepted the Annex to the Agreement. The agreement between the defence ministries of the two countries on military technical cooperation, which is based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, as well as the promotion of cooperation between research, technological and economic entities in the field of defence, was signed in 2018. The Annex envisages the possibility of additional cooperation for the procurement of weapons, military and defence equipment for defence purposes.
