The VAT rate remains unchanged, no changes anticipated

In light of inaccurate information circulating in certain media outlets regarding the VAT rate, pertaining to the interpretation of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić's response to a question regarding the VAT Law, we take this opportunity to provide clarification:

When asked by a journalist, "Do you plan to change the VAT Law?" The Prime Minister stated that, without knowledge of any minor changes that will not impact citizens but are obligations under EU legislation, there will be no significant changes to the VAT Law, but everything will be clarified in the fiscal strategy.

Therefore, the question and the answer did not pertain to the VAT rate but rather to the VAT Law (which has a broader scope than the rate itself).

If the question had been about the VAT rate (which is important for citizens), the response would have been that the VAT rate will remain unchanged.

To be completely clear, the 44th Government does not plan any amendments to the standard VAT rate, and any potential (minor) amendments to the VAT Law, as mentioned by the Prime Minister, are part of the formal alignment within Montenegro's integration into the EU.
