Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović's Office: We are closely monitoring the arrest of Montenegrin citizens in Kosovo
Regarding the recent arrest of three Montenegrin citizens near the Visoki Dečani Monastery in Kosovo, we wish to inform the public that we are fully aware of the case and are closely monitoring developments.
We expect our citizens to be afforded impartial and fair treatment, with full respect for their fundamental human rights and freedoms. Our diplomatic representatives in Pristina are in constant communication with the detainees and their legal counsel, and the State of Montenegro will continue to provide consular and legal support to its citizens in a manner and scope aligned with their requests.
We emphasize that we will carefully monitor the proceedings, with the expectation that all facts and circumstances of this case will be reviewed impartially and fairly.
Once again, we underline the importance of respecting the freedom of speech and expression, which citizens of other countries, including those from Kosovo, enjoy during their stay in Montenegro.
Montenegro remains committed to protecting the rights of its citizens and providing necessary assistance in all situations that require it.
