Prime Minister Milojko Spajić held a meeting with the directors of Monteput and the Traffic Administration, Milan Ljiljanić and Radomir Vuksanović, focusing on the development of the country's transportation infrastructure.

The Prime Minister emphasised that infrastructure development is a top priority for the Government. He expressed great satisfaction with the progress made on the Western Bypass project and the advancement of the Podgorica-Tuzi (Božaj) expressway project.

Today, we have two important announcements for our citizens! First, a tender has been issued to select a contractor for the Western Bypass. This is the final step before construction begins. The second important update is the signing of the contract for the conceptual design of the Podgorica-Tuzi expressway, which will connect directly to the Bar-Boljare highway. This is one of the 18 sections of expressways and highways we are actively working on, stated Prime Minister Spajić, adding:

I am pleased with the pace and activities of Monteput and the Traffic Administration, who are working to prepare for the construction of approximately 500 kilometers of highways and expressways, which will completely transform Montenegro.

The estimated cost of the Western Bypass construction is €20.6 million. The boulevard will be three kilometers long, featuring three four-way intersections and one roundabout.

This is a boulevard-type road with four lanes, sidewalks on both sides, and lighting. The construction period is set at 18 months from the contractor’s start date, noted the Director of the Traffic Administration.

The conditions for issuing the construction tender were met following the signing of a co-financing agreement between the Administration and the Municipality of Podgorica.

This is one of the priority infrastructure projects for the capital city, enabling smoother transit around Podgorica. Our responsibilities included project preparation, technical documentation, expropriation, and utility infrastructure. A lot of work has been done in recent months, and we expect the project to proceed as planned, with construction beginning soon to the satisfaction of Podgorica’s citizens, stated Mayor Olivera Injac, who also attended the meeting.

Monteput has continued its intensive preparations for the construction of 18 sections of highways and expressways, making significant progress with the signing of a contract for the conceptual design of the Podgorica-Tuzi (Božaj) expressway.

The contract will be handled by the Podgorica-based company Via Project, with a deadline of four months to complete the design. This is yet another step in realizing Monteput and the Government's ambitious plans to build 500 kilometers of highways and expressways, concluded Monteput's director, Milan Ljiljanić.
