Regarding the video put on the social networks of a savage beating of a member of Roma community by two men, the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights reacts with the following press release:

Ministry for Human and Minority Rights condemns most fiercely this violent act and urgently asks authorities to prosecute culprits of this incident.

Violence stands for an extremely negative social phenomenon that we persistently strive to prevent and suppress in all aspects of social life and behavior. All forms of violence represent a form of physical or mental violation of a person’s integrity.

It is clear that the long-term and effective changes in the society consciousness stand in need for joint action of all relevant actors in the field of protection and promotion of human rights in general, especially in the field of the improvement of human rights and freedoms of vulnerable groups what requires greater sensibility.

Cases like this, in a very unpleasant manner, talk about the awareness of individuals in our society and destroy the picture of civic, multiethnic, and democratic state of Montenegro.
