Memorial Day for the civil victims of wars in the former Yugoslavia during the period 1991 - 2001
Montenegrin delegation composed of the vice president Azra Jasavić and Minister for Human and Minority Rights Suad Numanović, earlier today paid their homage at the Memorial built to the civil victims of the wars led in the former Yugoslavia during the period 1991 - 2001.
More than a quarter of a century has passed since thousands of people of all nationalities in the former Yugoslavia, including at least 272 Montenegrin citizens died. It is the seventh anniversary since Montenegro's Parliament have adopted declaration that accepts European Parliament Resolution on crime in Srebrenica and institutionalization of the day of remembrance on victims in Srebrenica, as well as other victims of the conflict that took place in that period in the former Yugoslavia.
July 11th has been declared as European day of remembrance for the victims of Srebrenica genocide, committed during the period between 11 and 19 July 1995. More than eight thousands of Bosniaks were called in the area of Srebrenica and its surroundings.
