Press release: Intensive surveillance in the summer tourist season has started

On June 1, the Administration for Inspection Affairs has started with intensive surveilllance in coastal municipalities Ulcinj, Bar, Budva, Tivat, Kotor and Herceg Novi.

Surveillance will be carried out trough domicile and engaged inspectors from Tourist Inspection, Market Inspection, Inspection of labor, Health and Sanitary Inspection, Inspection of Spatial Protection, which will be present every day in the coastal municipalities, as well as in certain mountain tourist centres. Depending on the situation on the ground and potential problems, other inspections will be included in the intensive surveillance. It is planned that around 90 inspectors will be present on the coast.

Intensive surveillance will be focused particularly on intensive controls of placing temporary facilities in the coastal zone, the legality of the employment and labor relations, control of employment of foreigners, fullfilment of conditions for conducting activities of catering facilities, trade, issuing fiscal bills in catering and trade, including control of origin and records of origin of goods, sanitary-hygienic conditions in the catering facilities, facilities for collective accommodation (hotels), etc.

Intensive surveillance during the tourist season will affect the increase in the number of legally employed people, payment of budget and local revenues and the number of registered economic entities. Also, it will affect progress with the records of goods and services in the transport, issuing bills, payment of daily turnover. All that will affect on improvement of the quality of the overall tourist offer of our country.
