Minister Zenka attended the ceremonial opening of the St. Peter's Cathedral in Bar
Minister for Human and Minority Rights Mehmed Zenka and Director General for Relations with Religious Communities Žana Filipović attended the ceremonial opening of the St. Peter's Cathedral in Bar.
The Cathedral at Topolica gathered an enviable number of people from the religious and public sphere, the faithful of the Roman Catholic Church, and the church dignitaries. The city of Bar represents a symbol of the religious harmony in Montenegro, a place where even the time of large armed conflicts did not remember disturbance of the successful and rich coexistence of all three confessions.
The former Archbishop of Bar Monsignor Zef Gashi served today's holy Mass at the opening of the Cathedral, with the openning of which Bar has received another monumental religious building, alongside the Orthodox Church of St. John of Vladimir and the Islamic Spirit Center Bar with the Selimija Mosque.
He said that the coexistence of the rich basin and the green carpet of Bar olive trees is its spiritual wealth, which unites and enhances the old and younger generations and that the Archdiocese will develop this spirit in the future, emphasizing that this archdiocese is the oldest religious institution in country.
As a symbol of unity, moderation, firmness and fraternity, the saint of all Christianity for Parton of this cathedral Saint Peter has been chosen.
