Director General Filipovic in Skopje: Improving Relationships between Religious Communities and Comparative Experiences in Applying Legislative Solutions

Director General of the Directorate for Relations with Religious Communities at the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights Mrs. Filipović met Director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Religious Groups in the Republic of Macedonia, Darijan Sotirovski in Skopje.The topic of the meeting was improvement of the relationship between religious communities and comparative experiences in applying the legal solutions to this issue in the Republic of Macedonia and Montenegro.

During the meeting, Filipović pointed out that Montenegro was a good example of interfaith cooperation, dialogue and tolerance, as well as cooperation among religious communities, and as such managed to maintain peace and stability.

Filipović emphasized that Montenegro's experience of open chapters in the process of European integration can help Macedonia and that we are ready to share the positive results of the cooperation with the religious communities that exist in Montenegro.

In the forthcoming period, intensive co-operation has been agreed.
