Conference "Women's Power"
The Women's Power Conference, organized by the Association of Entrepreneurs of Montenegro in cooperation with the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro and Podgorica, was held today at the Ramada Hotel. The conference will also be followed by the Women's Entrepreneurship Fair, which will last three days at the Mall of Montenegro. There will be foreign exhibitors at the fair.
On behalf of the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, the conference was opened by the Head of the Department for Gender Equality, Biljana Pejović.
She explained that the Government of Montenegro has set the focus of its activity activities that will help women in Montenegro to be economically stronger, more visible in public and political life.
"The Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, in cooperation with other institutions, continuously maintains and supports education and activities in the field of economic empowerment of women. It is very important to provide support for creating favorable conditions in this direction, including active participation. The Government of Montenegro has put the focus of its activities on activities that will help women in Montenegro to be economically stronger, more visible in public and political life. Strengthening the economic position of women is one of the priorities of gender equality policy and has special significance in the development of our society. The economic development of the society creates preconditions for activating women's resources, especially in the area of small and medium-sized enterprises, which in economic transition, such as Montenegrin, generate economic development. "
Pejović Pejović expressed her hope that the conclusions from the Conference will not only help in securing the best position of women in Montenegrin society, but also to increase the participation of women in the domestic economy.
