A valuable donation of medical equipment was delivered today to Podgorica. The equipment was donated by Alibaba Group founder Jack Ma and his foundation, at the Government's request. Another donation was made by Greek businessman Petros Stathis.

Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić said at the airport that it is the duty of the Government of Montenegro to provide protective equipment for health professionals and for all those on the front line of the fight against the coronavirus.

"The Government is doing it successfully and this is confirmed by today's delivery. Today's delivery is one of many donations by businessman Petros Stathis. At the request of the Government, today we also have the significant donation from Jack Ma, founder of the Alibaba Foundation. All donations are expression of solidarity and friendship towards Montenegro. To all those who have donated and continue to donate, I express gratitude on behalf of the Government of Montenegro," said Minister Nuhodžić at Podgorica Airport.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro Nermin Abdić said that the donation consists of 300,000 protective gloves, about 550,000 surgical masks and 45,000 N95-type masks, 3,000 face visors, 2,000 coronavirus test kits and about 3,500 protective clothing primarily for health professionals who are in contact with patients positive for coronavirus.

"I am sure that the health system is able to meet the challenges ahead of us. I can say to the citizens of Montenegro that the health system is determined and united. Citizens can sleep peacefully and safely, abiding by the measures of the National Coordination Body. Together, we will succeed in combating the coronavirus epidemic," said Dr Abdić.

Minister Nuhodžić thanked citizens who abide by temporary measures. He told those who do not abide by them that they would be sanctioned according to the regulations with the aim of protecting the health of all citizens.
