Press release: Meeting between Massari and Hajdinaga

Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia-Montenegro Maurizio Massari paid today a working visit to the Ministry for National Minorities and Ethnic Groups. On this occasion, Mr. Massari was accompanied by Head of the OSCE Podgorica Office Rudolf Bogner and a Podgorica Office advisor Ms Rada Gavrilovic.
In a worm and friendly atmosphere, expressing satisfaction with the visit and the OSCE Missions concern for ethnic minority issues, Minister Hajdinaga acquainted the honorable guest with the activities and plans of the Ministry, as well as with the current situation in Montenegro with reference to ethnic minorities rights.
Mr. Massari was particularly interested in the provisions of the Law on Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms of Ethnic Minorities, whose production is drawing to an end.
In view of the problems the Romany community is facing in Montenegro, Mr. Massari was interested in learning about the activities of the Government of Montenegro aimed at integrating Romanies into the Montenegrin society. In addition, the two officials discussed the recent events in Kosovo and their impact on the surrounding countries.
Minister Hajdinaga thanked Mr. Massari for his visit and expressed confidence that productive cooperation between the Ministry and OSCE would continue in future.
